What Can Kegels Do For Me?

The Taoist movement in China began practicing the theory of exercising the pubococcygeus muscle a very long time ago.

The exercises were formulated to strengthen different muscles to promote health, spiritual development, longevity, and better sex.

Dr Kegel developed this idea and made the exercises popular in more modern times, and to a wider audience.

This exercise is known as a PC flex, or a 'Kegel' after the doctor who developed the exercise. The aim of the exercise is to strengthen and tone the pubococcygeus muscle by rhythmic clenching and relaxing of the muscle.

A strong PC muscle can help to control erections and ejaculation, and can help to improve the prostate health and can help to reduce the likelihood of incontinence in later life.

PC flexes are also the same as pelvic floor exercises performed by women to improve the muscle tone of the vagina, often after childbirth has stretched the pelvic muscles. Kegels are beneficial to both men and women and can have excellent results if taken up early in life. They can help to prepare the the pelvic floor for later life.

The San Francisco Institute for Advanced Study of Human Sexuality did a study on Kegel exercises in 1983.

This study showed the benefits of regular exercising of the PC muscle, whereas a study performed by Jack Morin titled 'Anal Pleasure and Health' in 1981 supported the claims that a healthy PC muscle is essential to sexual control and orgasm.

To identify the PC muscle you can use stopping the flow of urination to show you the correct muscle. If you try to stop urinating mid-flow you will unconsciously know which muscle to use to close the urethra and stop the flow.

Men can usually locate the PC muscle quite easily by flexing the pelvic muscles until they find the one that makes the penis "jump". This will be easier to locate when the penis is erect, as the movement will be easier to see. The PC muscle is located within the perineum between the scrotum and anus.

The main reason that PC flexes are beneficial, as stated above is the control over erection and ejaculation. Flexing the PC muscle will bring more blood flow to the area, like many exercises. This happens as the muscles need increased oxygen to help to repair the tissues after exercising.

Having increased blood flow can help you reach full erection hardness faster, and help you to control yourself during sex. This is because the muscle can stop the flow of urine and also semen.

Exercising this muscle can help men to control ejaculation until they are ready to, which is particularly helpful to those who suffer from Premature Ejaculation.

Of course the PenisHealth exercise program uses PC flexes, as they are essential to the health of the penis. A strong PC muscle promotes blood flow to the penis and pubic area, and this increases the likelihood of enlargement using the program.
